At the northeastern tip of the Iberian Peninsula, where the Pyrenees meet the sea, lies Cap de Creus, a magical corner where geology and marine biodiversity combine to offer an unparalleled diving experience.
This natural park, the first maritime-terrestrial park in Catalonia, is an underwater life sanctuary with crystal-clear waters, rocky bottoms, and vertical walls that seem straight out of a dream. Here, the white gorgonian (Eunicella singularis) sways gently in the currents and the red coral (Corallium rubrum) stains the rocks with intense hues.
Throughout the year, you can observe:
Its whimsical topography, sculpted by the Tramuntana wind and marine erosion, creates labyrinths of rocks, pinnacles, and underwater passages that delight photographers as well as technical and recreational divers.
Weather conditions are stable for most of the year. Water temperatures range between 13°C in winter and 23°C in summer, with excellent visibility and mild currents in many areas. The Tramuntana, the characteristic north wind of the region, can be surprising... but it’s also part of the charm!
